DRESS CODE

It is important to dress like a dancer for many reasons: proper dance wear allows for greater mobility, cuts down on fidgeting and limits distractions, allows instructors to better see placement and correct technique, and it sets the right tone for class by helping your child really feel like a dancer!

WHAT TO WEAR:

  • Primary levels (ages 5-10) follow this link for required attire.

    • After clicking the link, find and click on your dancer’s Class Level/Type.

    • Take note of the upper portion of the screen that says “Class Notes”.

    • Click on an individual item and scroll to find “Teacher Note” in bold print just above color options. The note shows you the required colors for your dancer’s class.

    • All required items should be purchased through the Discount Dance Supply link provided. Brown ballet slippers can be purchased at Bloch and Target.

    • Hair should be pulled back in a bun (preferred for Ballet) or ponytail, if length permits. Shorter hair should be held back with a headband or clips. Hair must be styled before drop off.

  • Creative levels (ages 3-4) follow this link for suggested items.

  • Dancing Together (18-24 months) and Magical Movement (Adapted Dance) - comfortable clothes; stretchy or loose fitting pants, and a comfortable t-shirt, and bare feet. If you wish to dress them in more traditional dance wear, please refer above.
